A Healthy Snack: Homemade Trail Mix

Looking for a quick, portable snack idea? Trail mix is ideal to beat those sugar cravings and give you a healthy boost of energy in the afternoon. A great balance of sweet and salty, with a nice protein boost – it really is an ideal snack and so easy to make at home. All you need is some kind of dried fruit and your choice of nuts and/or seeds. Feeling creative? add in some of your favorite cereal, granola, pretzels or wasabi peas. Here’s a nice blend – toasted nuts (almonds, walnuts, pecans, cashews – toasted with olive oil and salt), dried cranberries, dried apricots, raisins, crystallized ginger for a zing & extra sweetness and sunflower seeds; add flax & hemp seeds for a nice omega 3 boost. Pack them in Ziplocs, toss in your purse or bag and you are set. Or add it to your yogurt along with some fresh fruit for a great snack, breakfast or after dinner treat. Healthy snacking is about having good choices whenever & wherever hunger strikes; plan ahead and you will be well rewarded.

My bro bookmarked this webpage for me and I have been reading through it for the past couple hrs. This is really going to benefit me and my friends for our class project. By the way, I enjoy the way you write.
